I have been surprised by what the GPD Win Max has been able to run so far... so I figured it was time for an even bigger challenge. VR on the GPD Win Max.
It is... quite a bit... below the recommended specs though. The GPU is the built in Intel Iris Plus 940. So I knew there would probably be issues, and there is. The Link Cable feature is not an option, so the Rift CV1 probably also wont be an option. The Oculus Software just seems to refuse to try.
So instead I used Virtual Desktop and it has settings both on the SteamVR side and the streaming settings on the Quest side. The settings are pretty much at the lowest they can be. I also found that it is important to set it to NOT pause VR while idle. I am not sure if I went over the VR settings and such, but I did show the Win Max desktop being stream and its specs at the end of the video. This game will run better on the Quest itself, and its not that I would recommend using the GPD Win Max for VR this way, its just to show that it actually is possible to do this. I also did manage to get SteamVR Home running but often it just crashed. The Lab seems to refuse to run.
