If you're wondering why I start off just using regular R1 combos with the blades instead of the much stronger stance shift combos, it's to make sure that I get the blades to full immolation level. For some reason, the immolation meter drops like a rock when you do the heavy stance shift combo, and I can go the entire fight without filling the meter if I don't do R1s. It was definitely worth it, as I got 5 burns off on Olrun by the end of the fight.
