It was not a very warm welcome for Governor Abigail Spanberger at the Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax.
The governor was met with some loud boos when she stood up to the microphone during the beloved event, which is celebrating its 90th year in the Galax area.
When Spanberger was announced and took the stage, much of the crowd seemed unhappy to have her there.
The reaction sparked conversation among attendees and those following it on social media. Some said they believed the governor deserved the boos, while others said they were glad she came to the convention.
The governor posted a video to social media about going to the event; however, she did not mention the booing.
