Zuko was enchanted to meet her too. I know it looked like Zuko wasnt as into the date at first, but at the end he had really warmed up to Jin and you notice he looks pretty happy (which is rare haha).
I ADORE jinko. They were so cute. I can rewatch the tales of ba sing se a hundred times and still find these these too totally endearing. Jin treated Zuko like he was a normal boy.Everybody else knew him as a prince first, and Song treated him like he was broken and fragile because she assumed things about his past.
Jin looked passed the scar, and didnt treat him like he was about to break any second. Like she saw this guy with almost half his face burnt and still gets this big crush on him. Thats what Zuko needed. Personally, I dont think Mai fit him. Shes too depressing. Zuko is depressing enough, he doesnt need someone to bring him down.

So I finally watched the Kizumonogatari movies 8 years later and then went down a rabbit hole of reading the recent light novels. Totally forgot about this show and then these two return to break my heart. The whole movie gives mutual pinning and the fact that they never got together kills me!!! Like after all that...*Spoiler* she literally convinces him not to off himself and in the more recent light novels he also confesses that he loved her back then. People get on Hanekawa for not being honest about her feelings but she at least confessed like a year later, Araragi took 7 years to admit his past feelings so I dont wanna hear it was her wrong for not confessing back then like bro couldve confessed too. Also how does this song/lyrics fit them so perfectly? Ethel Cain really cooked with this one.
