On my way to work this morning I got in a car accident. I mentioned $7,500 damage turned out to be more like $10,500.00 and they did totaled it. However, in Wisconsin you have the option to keep the car. They pay you current value minus salvage price and if over 7 years old they don't even make you get a salvage title. Gaps on rear doors get narrow so from the roof down it got bent a little. I had the trunk re-sealed and straightened to be water proof for $400 and I drive it everyday.
