Dennis R. MacDonald, a distinguished scholar and Emeritus Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at Claremont School of Theology, earned a Bachelor's degree from Duke University, a Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School, and his Ph.D. in Religion from Harvard University in 1976. He has since held esteemed academic positions at various institutions such as Gospel College, the Iliff School of Theology, and the Claremont School of Theology, among others. Dr. MacDonald served as the Director of the Institute for Antiquity and Christianity at the Claremont Graduate University from 2000-2010.
