This one has quite a few steps and may take some practice.
1. Target the side of the entrance as shown in the video
2. Hold sidehop right (shield landing to avoid moving)
3. Neutral roll
4. Hold sidehop left (shield landing to avoid moving)
5. Crouch stab left
6. C-up immediately after unshielding (Link's head will be consistently angled this way)
7. Line up as shown in the video (I recommend using the left edge of the diamond to line it up)
8. Exit C-up and target
9. Run forward into the boulder then stop to let it push you away
10. Crouch stab and pull a bomb
11. Roll on a HESS frame and hold target and VERY slightly left of straight down
12. On the last frame of your roll, release the joystick (this looks different based on the frame of your roll and may take some practice to identify)
13. Hold VERY slightly left of down again on the next frame.
14. Release the stick and hold R
When I say hold VERY slightly left of down, this is referring to an analog angle that would curve a backwalk to the left. It doesn't have to be the best possible angle for a curved backwalk, just not straight down and not far enough left for link to guano walk.
The reason to angle the stick left is because A-slide distortion is different based on analog angle, and this way happens to be most ideal for clipping. Also, holding R after releasing the stick is to prevent the game from crashing. So long as R is held, there is 0 risk of crashing.

![Majoras Mask TAS Competition 2019 Task 1
This is the first task of my 2019 Majoras Mask TAS Competition. This time around there were 6 submissions, although I think I may get more in future tasks.
You can join the TAS Competition Discord here: https://discord.gg/BSbMYqfMpW . The discord has information about the competition and future tasks, as well as all of the resources youll need to participate.
Task 1: Enter Zora Hall from the shop. Light a torch and collect the business scrub Heart Piece. You must enter a swimming state for at least 1 frame. End by exiting Lulus room. Goron Mask is banned.
Results:
Name, Time [rerecords]

These are tool-assisted, meaning savestates are used and the game is played in frame advance or slowed down with an emulator. For more info, visit http://tasvideos.org/ Majoras Mask TAS Competition 2019 Task 1](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/IdQn_sxoCkM/mqdefault.jpg)
![Majoras Mask TAS Competition: Task 10
This was very late due to participation. For about 3 weeks after the deadline, I did not even have enough entrants to make a video. Because of this, I will be stopping the competition here unless I believe there is more interest at a later time. To see all of the compilation videos, go here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzm5TYL7LzKfk0V_f44xICyjgMtWoOG33
This is task 10 of the Majoras Mask TAS competition. Once again, just 4 entrants. There was variety in strategies as I had hoped, but I think this task in particular would have been improved had there been more entrants.
More info on this competition can be found here http://www.speedrun.com/mm/thread/5ywn9
Task 10: Enter the interior of Ancient Castle of Ikana through the main entrance. Kill 3 big skulltulas and 2 blue bubbles. The eye switches in the first room should be active when you enter. No other progress in the castle should have been made. Goron mask is banned
Results for Task 10.

![[TAS] Faster Maximum Height Chu Hovers
The difference is slightly reduced because of the lag increase from using explosives at a faster rate, but this technically saves a frame on each hover.
Normally when performing a maximum height bombchu hover, you have to delay the backflip by a frame to allow Link to finish putting his shield away, otherwise you cant do a frame 1 bombchu pull. However, after blocking the explosion during a hover, there is 1 frame where you can pull the sword. Then theres 1 frame where you can backflip or sidehop without swinging the sword. This frame happens to be right on the frame that you normally couldnt perform a maximum height hover.
You can download the .bk2 file here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vL8qLgONAWYp5B3e14a7pwVhFDNfCw36/view?usp=sharing
This was done on Bizhawk 1.13.2, so youll need a compatible version to play back the movie file. The technique itself will of course work on any version of Bizhawk or of the game, though. [TAS] Faster Maximum Height Chu Hovers](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JQmoASNzSjU/mqdefault.jpg)

![Mountain Ice Skip 0 A presses [DEMO]
Same concept as my previous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v e4r21Z_WIA&lc=z22cctgg5mm5jbq3hacdp43bmziptuwnobvp1qahquhw03c010c This time I used an eeno as suggested by ProbablyButter for the recoil instead of chus to make this actually applicable in a low A press run. I call this a demo because I pressed A several times from muscle memory, but none of my A presses were required. For instance, I pressed A to put away the sword, then I took it back out, and I have muscle memory to cancel C-up with A, but it can be cancelled by pressing C-up again.
So the purpose of this is to get over an invisible wall that exists on this seam. It is possible to backflip or jumpslash over it, but those require an A press which is for cheaters! First of all, gotta push a big eeno up near the ice. Its probably possible with a small eeno, but that would be way harder. I detonate the blast mask while holding ESS forward and slightly towards the eeno to get a long jump off the slope. Very shortly after the longjump, my shield hits a thrown snowball and recoils me back over the wall. To get over the wall, you must be extremely high up on the slope before long jumping, otherwise you will not gain enough height to get over. Then actually landing on the seam is very precise. It is necessary to stab the snowballs the eeno throws at you before and after in order to avoid getting knocked off the slope, and this is surprisingly difficult.
