Googlebooks are not Chromebooks. They're running Android and Android apps, though you should be able to browse the web with a full Chrome interface.
They're coming in the fall, and Google won't be making them. Like most Chromebooks they'll be made by companies like Acer, Dell, and Lenovo.
They're absolutely chock full of Gemini AI. Bottom to top they have Gemini integrated into every feature and element, even the mouse cursor.
They talk to Android phones, launching Android apps on your phone remotely and even getting phone storage integrated into the file browser.
We don't know how much they'll cost. Google is talking about "premium materials," but if they're based on ARM chips and use less memory and storage, it's possible they could be affordable. Or not.
Chromebooks are sticking around, at least for now. All Chromebooks will continue to get software updates, some for as much as ten years.
