Last week Google updated its Help Center to include a new vertical: Dentists. A long awaited moment for dental offices and agencies, you can now get a head start by signing up for the program.
Google Guaranteed is a program that provides customers with peace of mind when booking providers directly from Google. The program validates and verifies the background, license and insurance information of participating companies. Customers can be sure that their chosen service provider is qualified to do the job and will meet the high standards set forth by Google. With Google Guaranteed, customers can book their services with confidence knowing that Google is standing behind them.
In this video I am going to show you how to get listed on the program the right way to get fast approval and have maximum exposure in your listings. To do this, you’re going to want to have the following documents handy:
Certification of insurance
Dental license information
Ready to undertake a background check
List of accepted insurances on hand
Getting Started:
The first step to signing up for Google Guaranteed is to create a service provider profile and submit the required information. This includes details about your office including the owner information, contact information, and location information.
Service Area:
The service areas function for Google Guaranteed allows you to specify the geographic areas in which you are willing to see patients. This ensures that patients searching within your service area will see your profile and be able to book services with confidence knowing that you meet the standards set forth by Google. When setting up your service area, you can also specify if you are willing to exclude services outside of your specified area as well.
Services:
When you are setting up your Google Guaranteed listing, you will need to select the services you wish to provide. You can add as many services as you’d like, but only those services that meet Google’s standards will be approved. For the dental category, the services are as following:
Cavities
Chipped teeth
Cracked teeth
Implants
Crowns
And more
Verification:
Google says dentists will need to complete the following to be eligible to advertise:
General liability insurance
Medical malpractice insurance
Practice license on state level
Minimum of 5 Google reviews
National Provider Identifier NPI verification
Cost Per Lead:
The minimum bid for dentists appears to be around $106-$119 depending on the geographic area targeted. Of course this number is never perfect, dental offices should begin to experiment in their local areas to find the cost per lead first hand. Ultimately dental offices will be able to set their own budget and dispute bad leads, so we think its worth the investment.
Insurance:
Google Guaranteed allows dental offices to add accepted insurance information on your profile so that patients can easily see which policies are accepted. This helps patients feel secure when booking services, and it gives your practice credibility. To add accepted insurance information, you will need to log into your Google Guaranteed dashboard and select the “Accepted Insurance” tab. From there, you can enter the policy name, type, provider name, and other details about the insurance you accept.
Profile Optimization:
To help your Google Guaranteed listing stand out, you can add photos, detailed descriptions of the services you offer, and customer reviews. Your profile should clearly explain the value that customers will get from your services. Additionally, adding your accolades and reasons why patients would choose you can help you stand out. Finally, updating your service area regularly ensures that your profile is visible to those who are looking for services in the areas you serve.
Recommendations:
Now that you understand the program, I wanted to make a few recommendations when setting up your account:
Use your own call tracking system, Google’s is not the greatest
Turn off messaging on the profile, low quality leads but you’ll also miss them
Generate more online reviews, they all count in listings
Add only one person to the background check, it can take forever to do them all
Let Google bid for you, they know more about their algorithm than you
Dispute leads often, this will make sure you’re only paying for what you get
Closing:
Now that you’re familiar with the steps and best practices for setting up Google Guaranteed, it’s time to take the necessary steps to get your dental office listed on Google! Do it yourself or if you want a group of seasoned professionals to do it for you, visit the link in the bio to get started.
