Take this field trip to the old mines behind Goodsprings, Nevada. It was put on by the Friends of Mineralogy and followed a lecture on history and geology of the area. The mines and hills around Goodsprings are well-known for their many crystals. The Bird Springs Formation, a geologic unit in the area, is also known for viewing fossils.
