Hobbs was a beautiful dog. He was our third dog, and the second youngest we had. He was very crazy and playful, but loving and soft. He was as loyal as could be. If I was crying, he would make sure I was ok. If I was happy, he was happy. If I was mad, he'd do whatever he could to make me happy again. He truly was a smart and kind dog. Lot's of people would be afraid of him since he was a Great Dane, meaning he was big, barked loudly and was protective, but in reality, he was a big softie would could get along with almost anyone. I remember him fondly. One of the things he would do that I would love was that whenever I was at my desk, he would walk up to me and lay his head on my lap while I watched videos or did homework. I would pet him while he did this too, showing that I loved him and knew he was there. He passed away when he was only halfway through his life. My mother and stepfather are getting a divorce, and two of the four dogs are my stepfathers, one of them being Hobbs. He, however, could not take care of Hobbs. He tried everything he could to get Hobbs a home, but no one, including shelters, would take him. The last and only option was to put Hobbs down. He passed away only because no one wanted and/or could not take care of him. When I received the news earlier today, I was completely devastated, and my heart broke. I cried for so long. He was such a smart and caring boy who deserved all the good things life had to offer, but it was all cut short. If heaven does exist, I hope he's happy there. We'll all miss you, Habanero. We'll never forget you, boy.
