I decided to try to replace the idler tire on my Mitsubishi VCR because it wouldn't rewind and FF. When I took apart the metal piece on the top side of the cassette carriage, the mechanism went haywire and was blocked.
This was one of the VCRs I didn't really care about because it was in bad condition, mostly because of the bad idler. Also, I was rarely using it.
