It was a wonderful year of backpacking for me.
I took 16 backpacking trips in 2023 so far. I missed January since there were atmospheric rivers going on but was able to get at least one in every month since.
I camped at Point Reyes, Emigrant Wilderness, and Big Sur for the first time. Went on my first non-solo trip with my brother and nephews. Caught my first trout in the Sierra. I wasn't able to visit my normal spot at Ventana Wilderness due to the floods but Henry Coe was always there for me.
I regained a new love for fishing. I've been doing a lot more surf fishing. Tenkara fishing for trout and pan fish has been a fun learning experience. Learning about Bass fishing has been a lot of fun as well.
I hope to keep going in 2024. I'm really enjoying the video creation process.
