I'm a day late from when the latest breaking news hit, but I just had to try this out since I grew up on this game. It turns out the Goldeneye 007 XBLA remaster has just "leaked". Unfortunately it's not the most latest build of the game that was shown off recently, as this one has existed for a long time but was previously password protected. However some kind soul has posted it without the password protection and everyone now has the chance to play an older build of this unreleased game. Honestly, this should have come out. The Perfect Dark remake was awesome on the 360, and this would have been awesome as well. But due to MGM and EON Productions (the owners of the Bond property) not willing to play ball with Microsoft and Nintendo, most people would never get the chance to play it. Until now.
I don't have an Xbox 360 anymore, so I'm running this on an 360 emulator called Xenia. Surprised that it works really well; 60 frames smooth, with some glitches. But this is an unrealeased game running off of an emulator, it's guaranteed to be a little glitchy. Of course, it's been nine years since I last played a console FPS with a controller, so I'm just terrible at it.
Which is why I decided to also boot up the Goldeneye 007 N64 60FPS+Mouse/Keyboard hack that's been floating around the net for a long time. Using a mouse injector program that interfaces with a hacked version of the 1964 emulator, you get 60FPS from an N64 game with mouse and keyboard support! It's like a night and day difference: I just think that mouse and keyboard are just so much more precise than a controller. It's actually too easy, now that I think about it.
Now if Goldeneye 007 could just come out nowadays with the graphical and performance upgrade of the unreleased remaster PLUS the mouse/keyboard from the hack...it would be legendary!
