For years, I never bothered to remember the correct path to collect the Golden Gun in Egypt. But that was never really an issue, as I had found another way to do so. After the trap has triggered, you go through the doors and collect the body armour. Once the second set of doors opens, strafe out into the large room. This will start to reset the maze puzzle. While you are about to fall, quickly strafe backwards into the hall. If you are fast enough, you can kneel down underneath the sliding door and fit back inside. The drone guns will be covered back up, keeping you safe from harm. Simply step on the tile in front of the gun stand to lower the glass and collect it. While this won't set any speedrun records, it will help you complete the mission if the path is difficult to remember.
