After reaching Kalay and meeting with Lady Layana, you'll discover that the bridge to the north has been restored, allowing you to quickly circle back to the area where you first entered the world map-- Meaning you'll be able to access Vale, Vault, and later Lunpa without circling the entire continent. Vale and Vault both have caves that you'll be able to access with your newer Psynergetic abilities, and both have Djinn for you to get.
Vault Cave has a Mimic Chest almost immediately after you enter it.
