In my 'No Perfect Remix'-folder on mobilephone (in which almost all my own stuff lands), this thing here is number 100. \o/ That fact is complete hazard/accident, but I must say it nevertheless makes me happy since Golden Sun was one of the games which made me start remixing. :3
Well, the majority of us Golden-Sun-fans has noticed the fake-title called 'The Lunar Nation'.
-And as it's eternities ago I made my last remix considering this franchise, I used the inspiration and tinkered once more an interpretation of my favorite GS-theme ever. Although: I decided to follow Nehadarion's example (this YouTube-user made March 2012 an interesting remix of this song) to add plus double tunes for making it a bit different.
Considering our fascinating fake-name, I tried to get such a 'lunar' sound – after all there was always the feeling in the third title of the series (Dark Dawn), that Camelot left something entirely out. A story I really want to have seen finished one day.
You maybe ask what I could been referring to? Look: I have seen comments of people complaining about the fake-title a la “Moon-people? WTF!” – and these guys seem to forget just as Camelot themselves, that we HAVE a connection to the moon in the first game and especially in the second game, The Lost Age.
-Ladies and gentlemen, please remember our lovely Jupiter-Adept Sheba. (Named Cosma in German version – better or rather superior name, in my opinion.) Do some of you have forgotten, from where she came?
Just some history-lesson from the first Golden Sun game: The people of Lalivero saw years ago how a shooting star fell from the sky and landed in ruins next to the village. But when the worried men arrived, they found no meteor but a baby. The little girl was unharmed by the impact, so they called it 'Child of the Gods' and took her to their village, where the mayor Faran adopted her; naming her Sheba.
You may ask, why Sheba should be connected to the moon. She might have fallen from the sky, but that's not enough proof, right? But well, for those who played the second game, the answer should be obvious enough. She was born on the moon.
In The Lost Age, the story continues with Felix' party – and Sheba is meanwhile part of it. As they travel, they reach the continent Atteka. There, a huge crater can be seen on the map next to a town, Contigo. The people living next to that huge hole speak of the ancient Anemos civilization – believing, that many of their ancestors left the planet Weyard with the missing earth next to their hometown. Leaving only the Anemos Sanctum including magical wings for a specific lemurian ship behind for the following generations, the civilization is said to have reached the sky – turning the land they had taken with them into the moon.
Sounds like a fairytale? Heh, we speak about a game where ordinary people can be turned into Adepts by just getting their heads hit by Psynergy Stones. (And their earth Weyard is flat as a plate.) Also: The Anemos were gifted with the ability to see the future, detect the unseen and to float things as well as themselves into the air – traits Jupiter Adepts own. And now guess what Sheba is.
Albeit Sheba got no further information about the Anemos – and therefore was upset she had still no idea from where she came, we all can be sure that she must be a decadent of this civilization. Ivan and his sister are said to be related to the ancient people, since Contigo's roots are based on this Jupiter-Clan. So, considering how identically Sheba's and Ivan's abilities are, these two plus his sister are descendants of such 'moon-people'.
Ta-daah, mystery solved. That's why our newest fake-title has the name 'The Lunar Nation'. It refers to the unsoiled story-aspect of the GBA-titles. And I really want to see the moon alias realm the Anemos created with my own eyes – especially because it was heartbreaking to read the conversation after the group obtained those wings for their ship.
