On our third trip to Tokyo Game Market, and in a new location, we made a few rookie mistakes that we thought we'd document in the interest of helping you avoid them if you're headed to the convention! We had the best time though, and we'd encourage you to get to this fantastic convention at least once (especially if you love trick taking games!)

Helpful phrases in Japanese for TGM
1. Hello: こんにちは (Konnichiwa)
2. Are there English rules?: 英語のルールはありますか？ (Eigo no rūru wa arimasu ka?) [I always forget rules in Japanese is "rūru" not "rūsu" and pronounce this incorrectly in the video sorry!]
3. One please (the game): これを一つください。 (Kore o hitotsu kudasai.)
4. Thank you: ありがとうございます (Arigatou gozaimasu)
