Another collaboration with Wendy Wallace.
This time with a painting with the title "If a book".
The image is divided in sections that are individually filled with the RGB colours of the final pixel. The pitch is mapped onto a dominant 7 chord spanning 2 octaves.
If a square is 'hit' for the first time the sound is low, the second time an octave higher, the third and last time another octave higher.
The dominant chord resolves in it's tonica, but by taking that too with an added 7, leads to a never ending sequens ("dominant ketting" in Dutch).
Like when you're reading a book, your going nowhere and anywhere at the same time.
