A simple animation and sound test this time, because I haven't actually tried to do a full-on atomic blast effect with my Godzilla Earth model. The aura effect was done by placing a couple spheres with animated textured around the model, increasing their brightness and adding distortions to them in Blender's compositor.
I also mixed some original roar sounds by combining low-pitched Godzilla roars and a couple of shrill metal creaking noises with alternating pitches. This is actually the sound of my old bed creaking, which I recorded back in 2008 to use it later as a monster screech.
Here's a little trivia. Some speech from my TV was accidentally recorded along with the creaking noise, so whenever Godzilla Earth shows up in my animations and makes metallic sounds, you can very faintly hear the voice of the late and great Hungarian voice actor Gyula Szersén in his movements.
