Gods of Grief were a short lived Swedish death metal band. As far as I know, this was the only material they ever released.
Their style is unmistakably swedish, just without the Boss HM-2 pedal. Its very fun to listen to, the 2nd track is probably my favourite. Like all the best swedeath, they know when to use skank beats as they should.

![Leprosy - Penetration of the Soul [Full EP - 1999]
Leprosy were a Greek death metal band. Formed in 1994 as Ulto Divina, the band released 2 demos before changing their name to Leprosy in 96. Afterwards, Liel, Penetration of the Soul and Intellectual Slaugter were the 3 demos released by the band.
If youve heard European death metal, you will agree with me that this is undoubtedly a product of the nearby influences in the late 90s. Super low vocals without ever getting guttural, some oddly fitting raspy shrieks and a bunch of muted chords were super common from 96 onwards. And the closer? Not many outside Europe used to do that kind of closer track. Leprosy are a product of their time and they couldnt be better.

![Necros - Life Reject [Full Demo - 1995]
Necros were a French death metal band and Life Reject is their only known material.
Super super straight forward demo, very thrashy and groovy. There are a bunch of mid-tempo breaks on the riffs that really show off that side of theirs. All the main riffs have the typical fast open string thrash strumming followed by some tremollos or something like that (my bad if thats not it, I know jack shit about proper technique names). A short n sweet demo!
Shoutout penis on the cover art.

![Guthook - Guthook [Full Demo - 2024]
Guthook is a one-man slaughterhouse straight outta New Jersey, home of legends like Siege Column,
Deteriorot, Incantation, Symphony of Grief and Evoken - these last couple of bands, along with other heavy hitters such as Thergothon, Ceremonium or Decomposed must have definitely influenced Guthook.
38 minutes of death doom rage with funeral doom-like tempos that sounds straight out of the butchers hidden torture cave. The suitable Hellraiser inspired cover art provides the perfect visualization of this demo. None of the songs ever go above 10bpm and its fucking brutal, pure slow agonizing torment. Real knuckle draggin riffs....
If you sleep on this I hope you get a little visit from a cenobite during the night that makes you experience the album very intimately.
Shoutout Brazen Bull for the insane solo work on this demo, fucking hell its hard to top an effort like this.

![Elégie - Dimlight [Full Demo - 1997]
French death/doomers Elégie play in the style of Paradise Lost with heavy focus on melody and atmosphere. Theres a bunch of gothic to the demo, theres flutes too, acoustic guitars, organs, spoken voice, etc etc... Almost unfitting to the general vibe I tend to have on the channel, but I thought this demo was somewhat interesting, so here it is.

![Adversary - Remains of an Art Forgotten - [Full Demo - 1991]
Adversary were a Swedish death metal band, formed in 1990. They released 3 demos before splitting-up in 1993, Remains... being their last one.
They have a sound akin to early Immolation and Funebre or Convulse with a bit less of Swedish influences. Its undoubtedly a really competent demo and perfect for the swedeath fans that dont like Swedens signature HM-2 sound. One of those bands where its a shame they never recorded anything else.

![Cadaverous Quartet - Know Your Coroner [Full Demo - 1993]
American death metal band Cadaverous Quartet was active during the 90s and released 2 demos and 1 LP.
Oddly enough, this demo is more straight forward and their debut. I dont think Ive seen this happen more than like 3 times before. Usually bands do the opposite, get LESS straightforward as they go. Know Your Coroner is really slick death metal, mega grindy at points too (not just the couple of 10 second tracks in the tracklist). If their first demo wasnt your thing then this definitely will be!

![Nocturnal Vomit - Barbaric Torture Squad [Full Demo - 2001]
Nocturnal Vomit were an Australian death metal band. Formed in 99, this underground aussie band released a bunch of demos and splits before their debut album in 2012, after which they released only a handful of new splits before splitting-up in 2016. Some of the members did form another band, called The Psalm, but that one was even shorter lived, having released only 1 single EP.
If you know other aussie death metal bands, you know what this demo has in store for you. Lo-fi sound, lots of blasts, tons of satanism and a huge fuck you attitude thats so typical from those parts of the world. I love it!

![Conniptionfit - Annoying as We Wanna Be [Full Demo - 1992]
Conniptionfit were an American death metal band. As far as I know, this is the only material they ever released.
If you couldnt guess by the Minor Threat cover, Conniptionfit are super punky. All of their songs have skanks without end, as well as some d-beats. Sometimes, all this use of fast skanks paired with fast riffs gives it an almost deathgrind-y feeling.

![Ulthrash - Vital Abhorrence [Full Demo - 1992]
Ulthrash were a Spanish death/thrash metal band, and a very good one at it too! Specially for their debut demo. First of all the recording is MEGA raw, not in the you can hear the static and they sound all muffled kind of way, but in the man did I stick my head in the amps? kind of way.
Very aggressive, incredibly thrashy (which is the bands best side, imo) and super catchy! Id never expect such a cool demo from a band with thrash on the name...

![Holy Death - Moral Terror Vol. 2 [Full EP - 2022]
Moral Terror Vol. 2 is the second entry on a trilogy to be released by Holy Death throughout 2022.
If you liked Vol. 1, Vol. 2 will absolutely be up your alley. Holy Deaths brand of sludgy death doom brings so much intensity and vile loathing that you never expected to feel. Once again the tracks are shorter but the riffs are encapsulated so well in them that you will want to repeat this EP over and over again

![Experimentum Crucis - Experimentum Crucis [Full Demo - 1996]
Experimentum Crucis were a Polish death metal band and this self-titled tape is the only known release of theirs.
Very beefy and kinda of weird sometimes (in a good way). Mixed in with the straight forward death metal songwriting, Experimentum Crucis sometimes throw in some random spoken voice, a bit of fret vomit and sudden bursts of energy. Poland doesnt disappoint, their scene used to be one of the coolest.
