After Atreus had destroyed the mask and caused the rift of knowledge within Odin's sanctuary to disappear with the broken pieces of the mask, Odin retaliates, attacking everyone.
Kratos, besting Odin, allows Atreus to finish Odin off, using Jötunn magic to seal Odin's soul into a marble.
Kratos, being given the marble containing Odin's soul, gives it to Freya as a promise to her. However, Freya no longer needed it, her vengeance fulfilled.
Atreus, being in possession of Odin's soul, doesn't know what to do with it. Then, while Atreus was holding the marble, Sindri takes it from him and releases his anger, shattering the marble and destroying Odin's soul, then disappears.
Ragnarök approaches and tries to destroy everything, but Freyr stepped in, allowing everyone to escape but losing his life in the battle.
