Last week, Aaron's rod budded and everybody agreed he was in charge. This episode, we back up a chapter to see what it took to get there, and let's just say it wasn't a stick contest: Numbers 16 gives us Korah, Dathan, Abiram, a fourth guy who evaporates from the story after one verse, 250 men with censers, and a body count in the thousands.
We pull apart the seams where two (maybe three) separate rebellion traditions got stitched together, and work out how the sons of Korah went on to get eleven psalms named after them—even after being swallowed up by the Earth.
