Man, the Heavy Moon is sick. Where do I even start?

Its normal Square & Triangle attacks seem to cover a good area. They just don't move the character forward as much as you'd expect. They also have a sort of long duration so don't expect to be able to pop out of combos too easily with a step.

R1+Square enters the Battle Axe mode that seems to function as a combo stance similarly to the Boost Hammer. In the Battle Axe stance, Square attacks swing your weapon horizontally and the Triangle attack is an overhead finisher that exits the stance.

No attacks in the stance moves you anywhere so you have to be very conscious of where you plant yourself when you enter the Batle Axe mode. You can step out of the mode fairly easily though so I wouldn't worry too much.

By holding and releasing the Square button, you activate the Buster Blade like Charge Crush ability. This is the Chainsaw looking thing that makes the Heavy Moon a really flashy and stylish weapon. After charging and releasing the chainsaw attack, you mash Square when hitting a target to dig the chainsaw into the target continuously dealing damage.

The charge time and execution time is super long so you will most likely be only able to do this on a down, stun or a nice read. You also can't cancel into a devour so check your burst before trying this.

There's also this thing where the Chainsaw will focus on whatever the hitbox touches first. If you're aiming for a nice meaty leg for big boy damage, you can end up hitting a toenail and do why-bother damage instead of you don't understand how the attack's hitbox works.

Since it takes long to charge, you have position yourself very carefully and maybe even disengaging the lock-on will help you hit target's easier.

Its for these reasons that makes me say the Heavy Moon is actually a bit difficult to play properly.

Most of its damage comes from the modes and its easy to either try to spam those and get hit or lose burst as a result, or just simply not get chances to use them.

Think a Blitz Vajra is gonna stand around and let you charge that Chainsaw? Hell no.
You probably got a better chance of trying to make me play this game with English voices :V

All jokes aside, I can see a future Chainsaw mode Burst Art dealing mind blowing damage. This weapon looks promising.

btw the Elgato glitched at 1:47.
I don't even (@_@)
