It was not the understanding that God is our Father in a personal sense in the Old Testament nor among the god's of the Greek and Roman world. God as our Father and praying to him as our Father is rather much the unique revelation of Jesus - God's true human son. Scriptures considered include Luke 1.35, Matthew 1.18-20, Luke 2.47-52, Malachi 2.10, Luke 3.38, Matthew 6.6-14, John 1.11-13, Colossians 3.1-4, Matthew 6.33, 1 Corinthians 8.6 and Acts 2.36.
