The ARRL - the largest amateur radio club in the country has reached out to the GMRS community to get support for the "Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act" - a new law proposed by the ARRL that would make it illegal for HOAs prevent homeowners from putting up two-way radio (ham radio OR GMRS) antennas on their roof. This grassroots campaign launched by the ARRL in September of 2025 needs public support to pass The House and Senate to become law. To advance the legislation, ARRL is calling on its members, licensees of the US Amateur Radio Service and GMRS users to take action by sending letters to their congressional representatives via the links above.
