Attoparsec's installation GMBLMZ -- "a pilgrimage in three-space" -- at Burning Man 2014.
GMBLMZ is a 3D tube maze, inspired by kid's toys such as Perplexus. It is fully gimbaled inside a steel framework to allow rotation in any direction. The outer ring is 4 meters across, and the struts alone required over 6000 welds to build. It is operated using simple push-sticks, which keep participants more or less out of harm's way. Future revisions might include a crank and chain-drive system to allow more precise (and mechanically interesting!) control of each axis. External lighting was by 6 solar light units, and the balls in the maze tubes also glowed.
