Aaron Leichty driving The Winning Formula Kmiata to Pole Position at Gingerman Raceway for the Gridlife GLTC Spring Kickoff 2020.
Lean protection monitored by our Haltech Elite ECU put our Kmiata into limp mode during our first flying lap, but this sloppy follow-up was still good enough to just barely take the pole. Rarely does a qualifying session go perfectly for any competitor and this one was no different. Our nearest competitor, Andy Smedegard, encountered some slower traffic during his fastest lap that was likely decisive.
Our pole starting position in Race 1 allowed us to take an early lead and secure a victory in that race. With Eric Kutil showing incredible pace in his K24 powered Honda Civic, and fellow Winning Formula teammates Emile Tabb and Robert Manouchehri flying in their Kmiatas, we were thankful for the chance to take an early points lead on the weekend knowing that we would have our hands full in the following three races!
