By the Global Warming, the ice floes have melted too quickly for baby seals to remain on the ice.
This video was taken on March 13, 2012, from the shore of Magdalen Island, Quebec, Canada. The babies were clinging to the small patch of ice that was left behind in the choppy waters.
The babies were two weeks old and their mother had already left them.
Unfortunately, the next day the ice was completely gone.
The babies' whereabouts were unknown.
Canadian biologist have warned of the possibility of a mass drowning of baby harp seals.
There was even less ice floe in 2021.
