As states look to the ocean to secure resources and fuel GDP growth, new industries are being born. However, greater human activity in the ocean space has resulted in new challenges. We present macro perspectives on two key ocean space issues: international relations and environmental sustainability. Can countries work together to manage these challenges in a time of regionalization and protectionism?
