During the 2000 season, the Wayne State Warriors were coming out to avenge every loss from their dreadful 1999 campaign, during which they finished 0-11. Despite the seven turnovers by the Warriors' offense, the defense held firm, holding the Hillsdale Chargers to 14 points, and the Warriors won their third consecutive game, 27-21.
WR Pierre Brown (West Bloomfield) finished the game with 10 receptions for 232 yards and 3 TDs, and RB Thabiti Williamson (Ann Arbor Huron) finished with 171 yards on 30 carries. Defensively, seniors David Donaldson (Marine City) and Jason Carpenter (Wyandotte Roosevelt) led the way with a combined 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks.
