So many people look at Glenridding Dodd in the Lake District and think, that's a small fell, which it is, half a mile from top to bottom and think I will try that, as a first Lake District climb. Standing at only 442 meters (1440 feet) Glenridding Dodd is ranked as one of the smallest Wainwright summits, yet, it is one of the steepest assents and a descent I would not enjoy due to that steepness. The best way is to climb Glenridding Dodd, is to include a second Lake District Fell, Sheffield Pike, making the walk longer but a nice loop walk and a more civilized descent and ending with a wonderful Lake District valley walk back to Glenridding.
