Hi, the second video in the Glazing the Abstract series.

The painting changes in only very subtle ways with this second glaze, but it takes time to develop these images. Firstly the acrylic abstract painting, then a number of layers of oil glazing. Each layer has to be left to dry before the next is added and there is always the possibility that the end result doesn't quite work. But you learn so much in the process, how colours interact, how the glazes work with the colours beneath and on top and what it is that delights you in the earthy relevance of the oil paint, marks and colours themselves.
