Louise Jannetta | Glazing An Original Acrylic Abstract Painting with Oil Glazes: Part 2 : second layer of oil glaze. @LouiseJannetta | Uploaded June 2021 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Hi, the second video in the Glazing the Abstract series.
The painting changes in only very subtle ways with this second glaze, but it takes time to develop these images. Firstly the acrylic abstract painting, then a number of layers of oil glazing. Each layer has to be left to dry before the next is added and there is always the possibility that the end result doesn't quite work. But you learn so much in the process, how colours interact, how the glazes work with the colours beneath and on top and what it is that delights you in the earthy relevance of the oil paint, marks and colours themselves.
Hope it is of some value to you too.
If you have any questions or would like to see part of this process in more detail please let me know in the comment section below.
