A poem about needing people to treat you a little more gently. I hope you enjoy!

I need you to treat me like a glass flower
water me in vain
prune me to no avail
turn me towards the sun uselessly
pull the worms from my soil
pull the weeds from my earth
when I start to bend from this weight tie me to something stronger
when the weather changes bring me to your warmth

I need you to treat me like a glass flower
remember that I can shatter
that right now I’m more for show than for bloom
that I’m reflecting light, not absorbing it
that everyone can see right through me

I need you to treat my like a glass flower,
until my petals start to melt this ice.
