Gladiator A.D:
Gladiator A.D. was a fighting game in development by High Voltage Software (The Conduit, Conduit 2). Originally the game was supposed to take place in Rome during the age of the gladiators. The game featured sophisticated graphics and a lot of gore. At the end of each fight the winner could have the change to finish off his opponent Mortal Kombat style with head and arms chopped off. This concept was great! Unfortunately, after Sega became the publisher of the game, Gladiator A.D. turned into a mythological fighting game called Tournament of Legends. Though a couple of gameplay mechanics as well as modified characters and stages from the original concept appeared in Tournament of Legends, the game ended up being a totally different game.
Tournament of Legends:
Tournament of Legends was not as bad as most reviewers claimed. If fact, after playing it myself I can say that the game is easy to control and special moves are very easy to pull over (considering you are using a Classic Controller Pro). Controls are totally different from any other fighting game on the market, though I found them to be very similar to Castlevania: Judgment, onother fighting Wii exlclusive. In my opinion the game was fun in it's own right. The game does not do anything new or revolutionary besides its unique controls . It is just a good looking, easy to control, pure fun game.
Just do not expect it to be the best fighting Wii game out there because it is not.
