This message will help the church reclaim the conversation around addiction and define it biblically. for the glory of God and the freedom of His people. Jesus has laid down His life so that we could be set free.

- Why secular narratives about “higher powers” and “brain disease only” are not enough
- How secularism has quietly crept into recovery language inside the church
- Why addiction must be understood as spiritual as well as physical and psychological
- How bonding, attachment, trauma, and escapism relate to addiction
- Why Christ-centered, church-led recovery offers real hope and lasting transformation
You will understand:
- The limits of the Brain Disease Model of Addiction (BDMA)
- How the brain is affected (basil ganglia, amygdala, prefrontal cortex) without reducing people to biology
- Addiction as a bonding disorder (surrogate relationship with a substance instead of God and people)
- Addiction as an avoidance disorder (escapism from pain, suffering, and meaninglessness)
- Addiction as misguided worship and idolatry—running to a substance instead of to Christ
