Hey everyone, Chaz from Carputing here! In this Part 1 of a detailed retro hardware project, I take an old video wall controller and transform it into a Windows 7 gaming and power user machine. This build was a blast—full of BIOS mods, hardware upgrades, and OS tweaks to bring some serious modern performance to a very unique and industrial system.

Here’s what I did in this video:
Swapped the CPU from an i7-4820K to a 4930K
Replaced the Quadro 2000D with a GTX 980 Ti
Modded the ASUS P9X79-WS BIOS to add NVMe support
Injected NVMe drivers into a Windows 7 installer
Installed Windows 7 on an NVMe drive via a PCIe adapter
Added an M-DISC Blu-ray burner, 4TB SATA SSD, Wi-Fi card, and more
The case features dual hot-swappable power supplies

This video is all about the hardware, OS setup, and overcoming all the challenges of running Windows 7 in a modernized configuration. Part 2 will focus on gameplay, benchmarks, and improved screen capture.
