With his fourth album for KARL, Italian sound artist GIULIO ALDINUCCI makes a comeback. "Real" is once more a truly masterfully composed and sound-designed ambient masterpiece and a more than deserving sequel to the critically acclaimed "Borders And Ruins" (2017), "Disappearing In A Mirror" (2018), and "Shards Of Distant Times" (2017), all of which appeared on various year's best lists.
Massive layers of sound created by ALDINUCCI, based on field recordings and a variety of electronic instruments, combine droney ambient with celestial voices and sacred music to create an atmosphere of consoling sorrow that is both foreign and permeated with the presence of human beings. Additionally, each CD covers a subject that ALDINUCCI encountered while making observations and reflections about contemporary society.
