This specific track is originally composed by Keiichi Suzuki.
I took a re-listen to the Mother 1 OST recently. This track really stuck to me, so I decided to cover it. I dont know why I chose the SN7, but it does work as the chip is quite well suited for tunes of this kind.
Yes, the drums are noise only. Its using a trick identical to how Tomy does his SN7 tunes, but modified for the TI model, which has a different LFSR from the usual SEGA models. As a result, his trick ends up being better on the original TI model due to the LSFR having a segment where a square wave can be output.
