Today we're taking a closer look at my beautiful 2012 Gibson SG, proudly made in the US and finished in the iconic Cherry Red.
This SG has everything you expect from a classic Gibson: a lightweight mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and that unmistakable SG shape. But what makes this particular guitar stand out is the vintage-style Bigsby Clone, giving it a really distinctive look and feel.
Under the hood, this SG is equipped with Gibson '57 Classic pickups, delivering that warm, powerful and unmistakably Gibson tone. Whether you're playing classic rock, blues, hard rock or just cranking up a dirty amp, the SG has that raw, aggressive character that has made this design legendary.
The guitar dates from 2012, with serial number 121920336, and is a great example of Gibson's American craftsmanship from that era.
For me, the SG has always been one of the coolest guitar designs ever made. It looks aggressive, feels incredibly comfortable to play, and has a sound that's instantly recognizable.
