This guitar is a brand new one for me and is something that I've been coveting for a long time. I guess I'm kind of like the old guy driving the convertible - better late than never. Gibson has really knocked it out of the park with this one. The guitar is extraordinarily light for a non-weight-relieved Les Paul (3.65kg / 8.05 lbs) and consequently very resonant and 'alive', something that is accentuated by the unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups which are low-medium output and as great at clean tones as they are in front of an angry amp. Then there is the guitar's very handsome look. This is no flamed 'burst, of course, but that double gold sure demands a second look and it's not so vibrant as to be ostentatious; rather, it's just classy. You'll get a good fistful of neck - I believe the '57 neck girth is second only to the '58 but for me it's pretty perfect. I haven't had to do one adjustment to this guitar - no action, intonation, neck tweaking... nothing. That speaks volume about their current QC as well. I'm a very satisfied customer. Now to start saving for the '59 version... (does it ever end? ๐ ๐ฌ).
