On Sunday January 27 2019, Jack Gibbons will make a return visit in a benefit concert for the Randolph County Humane Society, at the Davis Memorial Church, Elkins, West Virginia, USA. The program will be a celebration in music of animals and the natural world, including works by Schumann (Forest Scenes), Saint-Saëns (Carnival of the Animals), Ravel (Mother Goose), Prokofiev (Peter and the Wolf - with narration), as well as music that has immortalized composers' own pets, from Mozart's starling to Gershwin's wire-haired terrier, with music along the way by Chopin, Alkan, Rimsky-Korsakov, Gibbons, and others.
