Here is my pattern for the little Pumpkin Cat Toy/Keychain that we made during the stream:
Size 4 medium weight orange (about 12 y) and green yarn (2 y).
4.50 mm / US 7 / UK 7 Hook
Stuffing (yarn ends, pillow stuffing, etc.), Little Bell (optional)
CH 7.
R1: sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across (6). Ch 1, turn.
R2 - R14: blo (back loops only) sc in each st across (6). Ch 1, turn.
R15 Seam: bring short ends together, sl st through each evenly matched set of sts from Row 14 and Foundation Chain Row (use back loops of R14). Fasten off and leave about 15 cm or 6" of tail.
Weave tail in and out through loops of each row edge along bottom of Pumpkin. Pull tightly to cinch shut. Make several "stay" stitches across bottom edge to keep it form opening up. Bring yarn through to inside, knot and leave tail on inside of pumpkin.
Add a little stuffing and bell.
STEM
R1: begin with slip knot on hook, along top edge of pumpkin, *pick up a loop in the edge of a row, pick up a loop in the edge of the next row, sc2tog*. Repeat from * to * around (7). Do not join row!
R2: sc2tog 3 times, sc into the next st (4).
R3 & R4: sc in each st (4). Fasten off, leave a 15 cm or 6" tail and weave tail through sts of Stem to close in any openings there might be between sts. Bring tail into inside of pumpkin.
