I love the music associated with Boos in Mario. It's either creepy or somewhat scrambled and broken sounding. In this case, I wanted to merge the two, so I had the repeating piano part be consistent and eerie while the bass is a little out of sync and distant as though it's being played off a speaker in the other room. Felt like the mix of those two vibes made this weird enough to be fitting.
