Yep! Good Bye Ubiquiti!
I already got rid of my Ubiquiti switches and replaced them with the HPE Aruba S2500's (and those are about to get replaced with ICX Brocade switches).
The next thing to go is the Access Points, selling them and moving into Ruckus Wireless gear.
The best value for the $ was the Ruckus R600 featuring a 3x3 SU-MIMO layout. They have the unleashed firmware that lets you control them just like how you control the Unifi environment but without a controller installed on a server or a cloud key!
Instead you just have one of the AP's run as the controller, its super convenient and works great.
I have seen tremendous signal improvements now with the new AP's and overall more stable connections and better speeds. I do like the Ubiquiti gear, but definitely I am liking the Ruckus stuff even more.
Ubiquiti is very smart in how they entice you into the unifi experience, just one device and you are hooked wanting more and more gear in that one single pane of glass. I am glad I was able to break the spell and go back to just using the best stuff for the money and not getting myself locked into a single vendor.
