Costuming Drama | Get More Junk in Your Trunk || Making an 18th Century Split Bum @Costuming_Drama | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 18 minutes ago.
Hello Friends!
To go along with my new Amalia Jacket, I need a little help in the back end, so I am making an 1870's Split Bum! I looked up instructions from a few different sources and sort of blended all of the information I got, including the American Duchess Guide to the 18th Century. This should add the correct amount of "junk in my trunk" to make this outfit pop just a little bit more! Until very recently, people used to pad themselves out in all kinds of cool ways to get the correct fashionable silhouette. You can use padding all over to change the shape of your body, rather than have to fret about not coming that way naturally. I kind of think we should go back to that way of doing things! I hope you enjoy this quick and easy project!
