In this video, I'll be showing you how to add VLC-style swipe gestures to the YouTube app for Android, which will then allow you to swipe your screen to adjust volume or brightness.

These gestures offer a pretty cool and intuitive experience, and all you need to do to try them out is install a simple app called "Touch Controls for YouTube." It doesn't require root, so anyone can try this out.
