Toronto singer @AlexandraPorat gave an energetic performance during her first headline show in two years. The alt-pop singer’s bouncy hooks and playful lyricism shone during her Axis Club concert. “Guess it’s BYOB, bring your own bullshit,” she sang on her track “Pity Party,” which got the audience bobbing their heads. She effortlessly balanced the roles of performer and would-be friend, chatting candidly about failed situationships and happily accepting fan letters. The crowd yelled along to “Never Say ILY Again,” then went wild when she covered Olivia Newton-John’s “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and Kodaline’s “All I Want,” two tracks she went viral for performing early on in her career. A sea of phones illuminated the venue as her fans swayed to “Hatelove,” the night's final song. “Thank you so much Toronto,” Porat said as a bold guitar solo brought the show to a close.
