GE’s Catalyst™, the first new, clean-sheet turboprop developed for the Business & General Aviation market in more than 30 years, is scheduled to begin flying by the end of the year. The latest tests demonstrated max power and max RPM, exercising the propeller’s pitch system from beta to full power to feather using a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FACDEC) with integrated propeller control – a first for this segment. GE’s Catalyst will enter service on Textron’s Cessna Denali.
