In this video, I learn many of the German noises and filler sounds that Germans use in their conversations! These are helpful to learn German if you want to sound more native :)
These are the sounds they make:
when thinking - uh huh? (mmm)
when hurt ow - (aua)
when surprised - woah, damn (boah)
when confused what? huh? (hä?)
when you remember something or give up on something - oh yea / such is life / oh well (ach ja)
when you want to tell someone that you told them so (tja)
when you are babysitting (au vs aua)
when you are grossed out by something - ew! (ihhh!)
when you're not excited about something - oh boy (uiuiui)
when a doctor is going to give you a prick or poke (piks)
when you want to exclaim mental weight - oh man (oh je)
when you're nervous or just thinking of what to say - um (ähm)
when you caught yourself and almost fell - phew! (puh!)
when you make a mistake and say "oops" (Ups!)
when you want to pretend to ride a motorcycle - vroom vroom (brumm brumm)About me:
